Facebook Page SOP

This article goes over standards of procedure for managing the Facebook account posts on the Fundy Software Inc page.

Types of Posts

The different types of posts that are published onto the page usually fall into the following categories:

  • Ambassador videos - these are usually their favorite feature or something about their workflow in the software.
  • Blog posts - we post both our internal blog posts and occasionally external blog posts from other sites. Try to keep any external ones focused on Wedding photography.
  • Product images - these are images of finished products (albums, wall art, cards, etc) that have been designed in the software
  • Software images - images of the software on a computer
  • Education/quick tips - quick tips should be geared both to new users and seasoned users. Just show off features in the software that people may not know about or clarify how to use it in different scenarios
  • Sales - post when there are sales running, in the first day or two of the sale being live preferably

Posting Schedule

Posts are scheduled for Monday-Saturday. There's really poor engagement on Sunday, so skip posting that day.

Posting will generally be done under Andrew's Facebook account. The information is stored in 1Password but he will need to be present to provide you with a code the first time you login to his account.

Below is a schedule for 2022 that reflects the global activity Facebook sees for each day/time, listed in US Central time. Try to schedule your posts around this schedule (be sure to adjust to Pacific time). Facebook will also suggest times "your audience" is most active when scheduling posts, so feel free to use those times as well.

After logging into Andrew's account, navigate to the Fundy Software Inc page. From here, select Create Post.

After selecting Create Post, you can add text (1), an image (2), or other options are available via the three dots (3). Create your post and then select Post (4). It may take a couple minutes to populate on the business page after posting, especially if it is a video.

How to Schedule Posts

To schedule posts, select Creator Studio from the menu on the left of the Fundy Software Inc page. Depending on your Facebook account, you may also see this option as Meta Business Suite.

When opening Meta Business Suite, select Create Post (1) or go to Planner (2). I personally prefer planner because it shows all of the posts scheduled and active so you can see your content next to each other.

You can add content to the planner by selecting Create in the top right or by clicking on one of the days of the week. You may see time suggestions (1) for times when your followers are most active.

Text for the post can be added on the left side (1) and media can be added underneath that (2). If posting a blog, this link can be pasted in the Link Preview box (3). Active times for our followers can be found under Active Times (4). When finished, selecting Publish will publish immediately. Select the drop down to the right to schedule the post instead (5).

Video Subtitles

Most people watch things on social media with their sound off, so it's really important to ensure all videos have subtitles. To review subtitles on your videos, select Content (1) from the side menu, then select Posts (2). Next, filter for Scheduled (3). Any CC (closed captions) that are yellow need to be reviewed (4). If these are not reviewed, the video will not have captions. To complete this, select Edit Post (5).

content > posts

After the box opens, select Captions & subtitles from the menu on the left (1). Then select Review under Auto-generate captions (2).

captions

Watch the video while reading the captions and adjust as necessary. Make sure to pause the video while changing the text because Facebook auto adjusts what text box (1) is active based on where the video is playing so it can get messy if you try to type and keep it playing. You can select the time stamps to jump to that section of the video at any time (2). After you are done with edits and satisfied, select Approve (3).

caption review

After approval, the captions will have a green check mark (1), select Next (2) and then select Schedule on the next screen to save the caption changes.

approved captions

After the video subtitles have been approved, the CC logo will change from yellow to black (1). This is a quick way to indicate which captions still need to be reviewed. You may have to refresh your page for the CC logo to change.
